JOB SUMMARY

The Construction Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all construction activities for utility-scale, commercial, and industrial solar photovoltaic (PV) projects. The role ensures that projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with contract specifications, quality standards, and applicable regulations. The Construction Manager leads site teams, subcontractors, and vendors while maintaining effective communication with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Project and Planning Execution

• Manage all on-site construction activities from mobilization through project completion and turnover.
• Develop and implement construction execution plans, schedules, and manpower requirements.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, and Project Management teams to ensure project readiness.
• Review construction drawings, technical specifications, and project requirements.
• Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions to prevent delays.

Site Management

• Supervise Site Engineers, Supervisors, Safety Officers, QA/QC Engineers, and subcontractors.
• Ensure proper utilization of labor, equipment, and construction materials.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor productivity and workmanship.
• Coordinate daily construction activities and resolve site issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate site documentation, reports, and progress updates.

Solar Installation Management

Oversee installation of:

• Solar PV modules
• Mounting structures
• Ground-mounted and rooftop systems
• Inverters
• Combiner boxes
• DC and AC cabling
• Transformer stations
• Switchgear
• SCADA and monitoring systems
  • Ensure compliance with approved installation methods and manufacturer requirements.
  • Coordinate testing, commissioning, energization, and project turnover activities.

Safety Management

• Promote a strong safety culture on all project sites.
• Conduct toolbox meetings and safety briefings.
• Ensure implementation of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Risk Assessments.
• Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure all personnel use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Cost and Schedule Management

• Monitor project budget and construction costs.
• Control manpower, equipment, and subcontractor expenses.
• Identify potential cost overruns and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare recovery plans for delayed activities.
• Track project milestones and deliverables.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PRC Licensed) is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of construction management experience.
• At least 2-3 years of experience managing solar PV construction projects.
• Experience in EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects is highly preferred.
• Experience with utility-scale, commercial, or industrial solar power projects.
• Proven experience managing multiple subcontractors and large construction teams.
