Finance Specialist

JOB SUMMARY

The Project Finance Specialist is responsible for supporting project finance operations by monitoring project budgets and expenses, preparing financial reports, tracking billing and cash flow activities, and maintaining financial records. This is to achieve accurate cost monitoring, timely financial reporting, and efficient financial support for project execution.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Budgeting and Cost Monitoring
  • Tracks project budgets, expenses, and cost movements to support budget monitoring and financial control.
  • Monitors project spending against approved budgets and identifies cost variances or budget issues for review.
  • Supports budget preparation, forecasting, and cost updates by consolidating financial data and project cost information.
Financial Analysis and Project Reporting
  • Prepares project financial reports, cost summaries, and variance reports for management review and project monitoring.
  • Monitors the financial progress of assigned projects by tracking budget performance and cost status.
  • Consolidates financial data and supports the preparation of project performance reports and financial analyses.
Cash Flow, Billing, and Petty Cash Administration
  • Tracks project billing, collections, and payment schedules to support project cash flow monitoring and timely financial transactions.
  • Processes petty cash requests, cash advances, and liquidation documents for project-related expenses and ensures complete supporting documents.
  • Coordinates with project teams, finance, and clients on billing, collections, and petty cash liquidation to support timely processing and reconciliation
Financial Record and Compliance Support
  • Maintains and updates project financial records, cost documents, and supporting files to ensure accurate and complete documentation.
  • Prepares financial documents and supporting records for audits, reviews, and management reporting requirements.
  • Checks project financial transactions and documents for completeness and compliance with company policies and approved budgets.
Ad Hoc Projects and Additional Tasks
  • Provides support for special projects
  • Performs other related duties as may be assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, Financial Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in project finance, budgeting, cost monitoring, financial reporting, billing, or financial analysis.
  • Familiarity with project cost tracking, budget monitoring, and financial reporting in construction, engineering, manufacturing, or EPC environments.
  • Good analytical and numerical skills.
  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy in financial data and records.
  • Good coordination and communication skills
  • Good documentation and report preparation skills.
  • Proficiency in financial tracking, reporting, and analysis using Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and accounting or ERP systems.
